Newcastle manager John Carver told the "Daily Mail" that the club rejected offers for forward Papiss Demba Cisse in the winter transfer window: "I wanted to keep hold of him and I was supported 100 per cent from Lee Charnley (managing director). It was a relief to be supported, to be honest, as it's a good sign."
